In China, because of people's fear and lack of understanding, patients suffering from leprosy were forced to live in remote and deserted villages, in complete isolation and extreme poverty. Their children, in spite of their physical healthiness, have no choice but to grow up without a taste of civilization and even legal identification. They are encaged in the shadow of leprosy, drifting like a ghost at the far edge of the society.
Humanity aids should reach beyond geographical borders. Based on this principle, Wings of Hope wish to arouse attention and join all efforts from those with will to build a road of hope, for the leprosy patients and their children, which leads towards civilization and better-being.
In addition, we also aim to provide practical aids to other groups of minorities and the weak in the hidden corners of our modern-day society, both in Taiwan and across the Strait. For us, love should bear no fear and can heal all wounds.
